BARR "New" 60mil Float
Custom floats are available with different hardware mounting options to secure the floats to decks and structures.
EPS foam products manufactured from styropor beads do not contain any CFC's or HCFC's known to deplete our Ozone layer. EPS can be recycled and used in many applications.
BARR floats are Expanded Polystyrene (EPS). EPS, protected by the tough HDPE wrap offers low water absorption by volume and high buoyancy. EPS has a buoyancy design value of 55 lbs. thrust per cubic foot (providing a 12% safety margin of 7 lbs. from the 62 lbs. of water displaced by the cubic foot of EPS.
BARR floats provide maximum flotation and long life to deliver maximum value.
BARR Custom Dock Floats
Our Custom manufactured dock floats are manufactured at our fabrication Plant in Abbotsford, BC. We manufacture high quality, high density black polyethylene (HDPE), wrapped polystyrene floats for boathouses & docks to meet your specific requirements.
Our custom floats are available in a range of sizes from 24" - 60" Width x 12" - 60" Height x 6' x 20' Length.
BARR floats are also available now from stock in a standard size of 24" Width x 12" Height x 8' Length with a 60mil wrap either with or without the pressure treated lumber reinforcement. These floats are an economical, easy to transport and install solution for lighter duty applications. Despite our recommendation that the heavier (100mil) wrap material be used for commercial applications, these floats are far superior to bare foam or foam plus spray on plastic coatings.
Our floats are available in 60 mil (1.5mm); 80 mil (2mm) and 100 mil HDPE wrap for commercial or other applications where extended life is essential.
BARR custom floats are also available with a number of reinforcement and attachment options. Pressure treated lumber is embedded into the EPS core. This reinforces the foam billet along its entire length to provide greater longitudinal rigidity while also serving as nailing strips. Hot dip galvanized steel hardware is also provided to include a range of mounting options to secure the floats to decks and structures.
