A Container Solution Story
What does a dynamic growing juice business do when they have an identified opportunity to improve a bulk material handling problem? The call a dynamic, growing business that specializes in "Container Solution for Industry"
When Happy Planet was not happy with their process of using non-returnable steel drums to bring their fresh apple juice from Oregon to their procesing plant, they called BARR for a solution. After analyzing the problem BARR called on the experience of our supply partner 
for their experience in bag in box solutions. Buckhorn recommended their Citadel Container system (shown top left of page) which integrates a foam injection molded, dual walled container which is the strongest and most durable container on the market for the application. The Buckhorn Citadel container is a collapsible at a 2.9:1 return ration which means you only need to send 1 truckload of empties for refilling for every 3 full loads received. It also means you do not spend valuable warehouse space at either end of the process to store empty containers or invest in time consuming messy and expensive cleaning processes for returnable containers. The Citadel bag in box container system is mathed with a heavy duty 2 or 3 ply (more if required) food grade poly bag insert which is disposed or recycled after use. The Citadel can then be collapsed in seconds and stacked for efficient storage.
When BARR and Happy Planet staff visited the juice supplier to assist with the initial filling we were surprised to find that the staff there had already completed filling the entire initial order for Happy Planet in a fraction of the time normally spent flling 45 gal drums. The staff there really did not need our help!
